The Croft will be closing at 6pm on Friday 23rd December and will re-open on Wednesday 28th December at 10am, we will also be closed from 6pm on Friday 30th December, re-opening on Wednesday 4th January at 10am. There are details below about how to contact us and other organisations which can help with general support; housing; emotional support; a family member’s drug use and/or homelessness.

If you need to find out something about the prison, please contact the Family Contact Team on 0141 770 2037 – there is usually an answer machine.

For help with general information and support for friends and families of prisoners, contact Families Outside Freephone Helpline on 0800 254 0088. They are open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, closed for the Christmas and New Year bank holidays. www.familiesoutside.org.uk

For help with housing problems, contact Shelter Scotland on 0808 800 44 44. They are open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, closed for the Christmas and New Year bank holidays. www.scotland.shelter.org.uk

For emergency help and someone to speak to, contact the Samaritans on 116 123 or if you’re worried about someone’s drug or alcohol use, contact Scottish Families Affected by Drugs on their helpline 08080 10 10 11. Their Christmas and New Year Opening hours are below, you can also email them on helpline@sfad.org.uk

For help with homelessness, in Glasgow, contact the Hamish Allan Centre on Freephone 0800 838 502, they are open 24 hours on weekends and bank holidays and from 4pm – 9am at other times.

The Glasgow Winter Night Shelter operates from within the Lodging House Mission’s building on 35 East Campbell Street, off the Gallowgate, G1 5DT. It is open on a first-come first-served basis every night from 10pm during December 1st to March 31st.
